Smudges and stakes are recommended for deep purification ceremonies and rituals where the presence of smoke is necessary, which by its very nature has a more decisive and pervasive action, absorbing and transforming stagnant energies into something lighter and more sublime. The vibrations that are perceived from such a fumigation are comparable to those of a drum.

What's in the package?

The package includes a smudge of Desert Sage and a stake of Palo Santo:

  • Smudge made of intertwined leaves of Artemisia tridentata. They are natural incenses made by artisans from the regions of Central America and California according to the Native American tradition. Smudges are recommended for those seeking purification, energy rebalancing, positive vibrations.

  • Palosanto® Popular variety: Variety of Palo Santo incense harvested in northern Peru. The Bursera graveolens tree, in this area, grows on rocky terrain and with harsh climatic and environmental conditions. The aroma is soft, enveloping and sweet that touches deep emotional chords and releases new energy. The cut of the stake is the classic one.

The Benefits of Desert Sage & Palo Santo:

The benefits released by the union of these two incenses are multiple:

- gives strength in situations of emotional fragility and stress,
- purifies the energies of the environments,
- promotes inner harmony and mental and physical rebalancing,
- stimulates concentration and introspection.

Light the Smudge and let it burn for a few seconds, then wave it in the air or blow to put out the flame. Repeat until a thin layer of embers forms at the end of the bundle. This will begin the process of purifying your space. When the smoke dies down, gently blow on the embers to revive them, being careful not to let the ash fly onto your clothing or furniture.
To put it out, seal the Smudge in a glass jar or sink the smoking end into a container of sand.

You can continue the purification by lighting the Palo Santo stake.
For a deeper experience, use the two incenses in combination, allowing their smoke to mix and work synergistically.
Keep the flame lit on one end of the Palo Santo for a couple of seconds and then blow it out by waving the stick in the air. Be careful not to keep the flame lit for too long or you risk burning the resin, releasing a bad smell and black smoke.
If the flame goes out on its own after a few seconds, don't worry, that's how it's supposed to work.
Once the flame is out, blow on the patina of embers that forms on the top of the stake. The smoke from the Palo Santo will die down after a few seconds. Repeat the lighting to revive the embers and continue the fumigation.
